He shall grow up before him as a tender plant…
He is despised and rejected of men…
He hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows…
He was wounded for our transgressions…
and with his stripes we are healed.
He shall grow up before him as a tender plant…
He is despised and rejected of men…
He hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows…
He was wounded for our transgressions…
and with his stripes we are healed.
He shall grow up before
him as a tender plant…
He is despised and
rejected of men…
He hath borne our griefs,
and carried our sorrows…
He was wounded for
our transgressions…
and with his stripes
we are healed.
— Isaiah 53:2-5 KJV —
[P]etal patterns promulgate in miniature bouquets
[L]eaflet laterals lay in congregational arrays
[A]grostologic art advances wild in tufts and lays
[N]ature-fiber networks nest and cling in lichen sprays
[T]inted tendrils trend o’er micro-heather hideaways
[S]prigs, stems, seeds, and buds meld delicate displays

Raise His Praise!
Some of the most amazing and tender beauty and wonder in this world can be found in the intricate details visible in the plant life that surrounds us, especially in florae that are very small. Unfortunately, we often walk right past—or on—such wonders, rejecting them in favor of man-made distractions. So next time you take a walk or hike a mountain, look down: In opening your eyes to see the marvel of a blade of grass, a tiny flower, or even a fallen leaf or berry, you may find a moment of peace despite the stresses of a frantic life.
And if you look just a little closer, you may also see the Savior, who as a tender plant is often overlooked and even stepped on in our self-absorption. Yet He took upon Himself our griefs, sorrows, and transgressions, and if we open our eyes to see the wonder of His love, He can give us peace that lasts far longer than a moment and healing that lasts forever.
Please enjoy the images below of plants—often very, very small (as demonstrated in the example image below)—in and around the Malangen and Balsfjord areas of Northern Norway.
