Images (Signs)

And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven;
and then shall all the tribes of the earth…see the Son of man
coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man
in heaven; and then shall all the tribes of the earth…
see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven
with power and great glory.

And then shall appear the sign
of the Son of man in heaven;
and then shall all the tribes of
the earth…see the Son of man
coming in the clouds of heaven
with power and great glory.

Storm clouds, Blue sky, Humid/Dry air, Gusts and Zephyrs blow
Fiery pinks and blues, Expanding light, Horizon glow
Gospel to the world, Eagles gather, Lightnings flow—

From roads to ads to growth to age to weather to sun-show,
we look for signs to guide, delight, and warn us as we go
But most important are the signs that we must all follow—
if we want to finally be at peace and war forgo—
pointing to the day foretold by prophets long ago
of when the Lord takes up His crown,
when every knee shall then bow down
and every tongue confess renown
of Jesus of I Am hometown,
and all the world shall clearly—beyond doubt or dispute—know

Signs are everywhere. They bombard us on our roads and in advertising; we see them both implicitly and explicitly in weather, space, life, emotions, demeanor, and religion. We often rely on our interpretations of them. Yet we also often ignore them, to our peril.

May we as children of a loving Father in Heaven keep our eyes open and looking up, so that of all the signs in our lives, we may most clearly recognize those He sends us, both to help us daily and to prepare us to rejoice at the return of His Son.

Please enjoy the images below of various signs in and around the Malangen and Balsfjord areas of Northern Norway.

Please also enjoy YouTube audio (with a static album cover), published by user legogeek4000671, of I Am the Way, a driving and gritty power-tune by Mark Schultz.

This was the first song I ever heard by Mark and it endeared me forever to his music. It invites: “When you’re down, look around and you’ll see I am with you…” This phrase carries a genius dual meaning: In your hour of need, if you look around, (1) You’ll see that “I am” with you—Jesus is there, helping you—and (2) You’ll see “I Am” with you—the great I Am, Christ, Savior, Redeemer, God is with you in all of His mighty saving power.
