Title: Midnight Sun over Bentsjordtinden
Location: From Mortenhalsskolten, Norway
Description: Captured during a hike, timed to arrive at the peak just before midnight. Two great places from which to see the Midnight Sun include a boat on the ocean and the top of a mountain. The ocean offers a stunning unimpeded view to the horizon, while the mountain offers evocative landscaping that somehow makes the sun appear much larger than it appears from the ground. In this image, the Midnight Sun (exactly at midnight) settles in splendor over the valley between the Klemmartindan (left) and Bentsjordtinden (right) ranges. (Compare mhp777.com image C01466—one year earlier, nearly the same date, and ten minutes past midnight.)
