And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth,
and under the earth, and such as are in the sea,
and all that are in them, heard I saying,
Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power,
be unto him that sitteth upon the throne,
and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.
And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth,
and under the earth, and such as are in the sea,
and all that are in them, heard I saying,
Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power,
be unto him that sitteth upon the throne,
and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.
And every creature which is in heaven,
and on the earth, and under the earth,
and such as are in the sea, and all
that are in them, heard I saying,
Blessing, and honour, and glory,
and power, be unto him that sitteth
upon the throne, and unto the Lamb
for ever and ever.
— Revelation 5:13 KJV —
[A]lleluia! All ye creatures throughout earth’s domain
[N]ame the One who gave you life, will, purpose, motion, brain
[I]nvoke His grace through instinct; sense His will to guard, sustain
[M]agnify His glory through wing, feeler, fin, and mane
[A]dore Him, who will end all violence when He comes to reign
[L]aud Him, raising anthems o’er sky, water, hill, and plain
[S]ing, flap, bark, roar, bubble, click in harmonic refrain
A-N-I-M-A-L-S: His highest Praise attain!

In the music-themed movie Rigoletto (published by
Feature Films for Families),
a father explains to his son, “I suppose them pigs—maybe they can talk, ’cept that we can’t understand ’em, that’s all…” In the Bible (see Numbers 22:21-39), the Lord empowers a donkey to speak to Balaam. Again in the Bible, in Revelation, several passages (including the one that begins this Web page) refer to beasts that speak and offer praise.
It seems clear that animals, for which we humans are but caretakers (see Genesis 1:26), have the ability not only to speak but to glorify their Maker.
We would do well to do likewise.
Please enjoy the images below of various animals in and around the Malangen and Balsfjord areas of Northern Norway.

Please also enjoy a YouTube video of The Friendly Beasts,
as sung by Brian Stokes Mitchell and accompanied by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
In this rendition, Brian mimics the sounds of a donkey, cow, sheep, and dove, as they gather around the manger
and sing of the gifts they each offer to the Baby Jesus.
