Images (Winter)

Thou hast set all the borders of the earth:
thou hast made summer and winter.

Thou hast set all the borders of the earth:
thou hast made summer and winter.

Thou hast set all the
borders of the earth:
thou hast made
summer and winter.

— Psalms 74:17 KJV —

Amber thoughts turn inward, leaving autumn with a sigh
towards colder, darker, barer things that pensive we apply
to life and age and circumstance; yet ever He is nigh
in frosty outlines, evergreens, awe-spectra in the sky;
in arctic foxes, snow geese, orcas, creatures low and high;
in kindly deeds and warming fires and hope in rich supply
to help us through our times of need beneath His watchful eye.
Lord, help us to remember all beneath Your watchful eye.

Sometimes God saves His very best for last. In the winters of our lives, when hope may seem cold and in the deepest hibernation—whether from season, age, betrayal, tragedy, war, or other situations where the way seems clouded, insurmountable, or even devoid of life—He provides stunning beauty and radiant hope, and proclaims that He is ever with us.

Please enjoy the images below of winter in and around the Malangen and Balsfjord areas of Northern Norway, from mid-November through mid-May.
